Parking is very limited at the park please plan ahead.

Getting to Port Credit Memorial Park by Public Transportation

  • Go Train: Closest stop to the walk is the Port Credit Go Station. Visit the Go Transit website for more details.
  • Mississauga Transit: Mississauga Transit runs along Lakeshore Road East and Hurontario Street. Visit the Mississauga Transit website for more details.
 

SAFETY

Here is what is available the day of the walk to keep things safe:

  • Along the 2 km and 5 km walk route, there will be Volunteers and Route Marshals available to assist you
  • Portable restrooms and sinks will be available at Port Credit Memorial Park
  • First aid will be available at Port Credit Memorial Park
  • Hand sanitizer will be readily available at the Registration Tent and throughout Port Credit Memorial Park and at the turnaround point on the 5 km walk route
  • To ensure everyone’s safety, if mandated, government COVID protocols will be followed
  • Water and snacks will be available at Port Credit Memorial Park and stations will be situated at the turnaround point on the 5 km walk route
  • All children 12 years of age and under should be accompanied by an adult
  • Children in strollers are free; however, as they are not registered participants, they will not receive a swag bag, T–shirt, festivities wristband or a participation ribbon
  • Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times

Event Day FAQs


The Hazel McCallion Walk for Health is a 2 km and 5 km fundraising walk hosted by Trillium Health Partners Foundation (THPF). The event features a family-friendly festival following the walk, where participants can celebrate with a barbeque lunch, activities and live entertainment.

Dogs are welcome to join as long as they are on a leash.

Of course! Volunteer support is appreciated. If you're interested in helping out at the Walk, please register by May 20, 2022.

The safety of our event participants is top priority for THP and THPF. To ensure everyone's safety, if mandated, government COVID protocols will be followed. First aid will be available at Port Credit Memorial Park and hand sanitizer will be readily available at the Registration Tent, throughout Port Credit Memorial Park and at the turnaround point on the 5 km walk route.

Yes, Trillium Health Partners Honorary Guardian and former Mississauga Mayor, Hazel McCallion will be leading the way on June 5! The better question is, can we all keep up with her?

For safety reasons, no rollerblades, scooters, skateboards, bikes, unicycles or motorized vehicles are permitted on the walk routes. Baby strollers and runners are welcome to attend.

REGISTRATION IS NOW SOLD OUT!
Our immense gratitude to our incredible community, our 1st Hazel McCallion Walk for Health is now sold out and registration is closed! We are absolutely thrilled by the amazing turnout and humbled by our community’s support of health care workers and Trillium Health Partners. We can’t wait to see you on Sunday and want to thank you for all your fundraising efforts and support!

Registration for this event is FREE, however, fundraising minimums apply as follows:
  • Individual minimum $125 raised
  • Family & friends (up to 5 members) minimum $300 raised
  • Team Challenge (6 to 10 people) minimum $2,000 raised
THP staff should sign up using their THP email and can add friends and family to their roster.

Participants who meet fundraising requirements will receive:
  • Swag Bag filled with goodies
  • Free event T–shirt (*team participants receive a customized team T–shirt)
  • Participant ribbon
  • Wristband to enjoy the morning breakfast, barbeque lunch and access to the festivities
  • Rest station on walk route with free water and healthy snacks
  • Route marshals
  • Free bag check (do not include any valuables in your bag such as: cellphones, wallets, etc. Trillium Health Partners Foundation (THPF) is not responsible for damaged, lost or stolen items)
  • Access to win fabulous fundraising prizes
  • Post-walk Family Fun Festival!

Children in strollers are free, however, since they are not registered participants they will not be eligible to receive a swag bag, T–shirt, festivities wristband or finisher ribbon.

Yes. Family and friends can join THP staff teams as long as the Team Captain is a current THP employee with a valid THP email address.

Teams should be between 6–10 people. For teams of 10 or more people the fundraising requirement goes up by $200/additional team member.

If you are using our online registration, you can register your team or family all at once. If you are registering in person, due to the waiver, the registration needs to be filled out separately for each individual.

Online registration and fundraising is easy! Just click here to begin! A confirmation will be emailed to you once you complete the registration process. Once you've registered, all you have to do is login to the LOGIN DASHBOARD using your username and password and begin raising pledges online.

Yes, offline donations can be added to online donations. Please note that the process will take at least five business days.

To sponsor a participant, visit this link. You can search for a participant by first and last name or you can sponsor a team. When you pledge online, you will receive an instant electronic tax receipt.

The Hazel McCallion Walk for Health is a charitable fundraising event in support of our community hospital, Trillium Health Partners. In order to help us reach our fundraising goals, we ask that all participants commit to raising pledges. We have some great fundraising tips on our website that can help!

THP employees and Teams can register for free using their THP emails and do not need to meet fundraising requirements but are encouraged to raise money for their department or another health care need. Raising money also gives individuals or teams a chance to win great prizes.

Yes! We encourage our participants to raise pledges to win great fundraising prizes. Prizes will be awarded to the Top Team and Individual Fundraisers, and each Team Captain will be entered into a draw to win a fabulous prize! Prize winners will be contacted within 10 business days following the event.

The funds raised for the event will go toward supporting the future home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital but THP staff can fundraise for their own department or another one of THP’s hospital sites, if they wish. Priority will go toward supporting equipment on the capital equipment list.

Yes! FREE Registration + no fundraising requirement, but fundraising for your Department or another health system need on the capital equipment list is highly encouraged and gives you a chance to win great prizes.

There is no mandatory fundraising required of our THP Staff, although in order for us to reach our fundraising goals, we ask that all participants commit to raising pledges.

The total fundraising goal is collective for the entire team and not each individual.

Yes, although we encourage additional fundraising for teams exceeding 10 members.
