The Hazel McCallion Walk for Health will support the future home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital, the complete replacement of the existing Mississauga Hospital. What was a small community hospital in 1958 has since grown into a major centre for regional programs like cardiac care, stroke and more, supporting the health of our citizens. The community has also undergone remarkable change with a growing population, greater diversity and more complex needs, changes that continue at a rapid pace. Over the next 20 years, no hospital in Ontario faces more growth than Trillium Health Partners. By joining the walk, you will be helping us build the largest hospital in Canada, the future home of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital.

You can either use the template we’ve provided or have fun and add a photo and your reason for joining The Hazel McCallion Walk for Health. Participants who customize their pages often find that they are more successful at fundraising and reaching their goals.
Kick-start fundraising by donating to yourself. This is a great way to show your support and it helps suggest a donation amount to others who will be visiting your page. Alternatively, if you’d rather not ask anyone to sponsor you, feel free to donate the full fundraising minimum.
Use one of our templates in the participation centre or grab your personal link to send emails from your personal email. Ask for support and tell your colleagues, friends and family why you’re walking. This will help you reach your fundraising goal. Consider adding a suggested donation amount of $25, $50, $75 or donate what you can to give people an idea of how much to donate.
Share your personal donation page on your favourite social media channels, and consider texting your friends to ask them to sponsor you (or even join you at the walk)!
Everyone is busy and they may not remember receiving a message from you. It’s ok to ask again. Consider sending a second message via email, text or on social media to remind people to sponsor you.
We’ve tried to keep things simple for you and added a template for that, but thank you messages are more meaningful when they are personalized, so feel free to customize your message. This is also a good time to remind your sponsors that they should have received automatic tax receipts.
