Diwali, the Festival of Lights

Diwali is an annual South Asian festival. The festival follows the lunar calendar and this year will fall on October 24, 2022. All around the world people celebrate Diwali as the symbolic triumph of truth and light over darkness. Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word deepawali—‘a row of lights’—and has various interpretations and meanings significant to different people of South Asian origin. Millions of Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs across the world celebrate the special time of Diwali.
